Readers Revenge
I often get email from many of you suggesting a topic for me to go off on in this blog. Sometimes I will do an article based upon your inspiration and others I am absolutely unqualified write or even read about the topics you suggest.
You folks have put up with my writing for eight months now and now I’m going to return the favor in a bizarre kind of a way. Here’s what I will do. I will dedicate one entire week to the things you want me to write about. All you need to do is either email me or reply to this post and tell me what you want me to write about. The first 7 to reply win.
I’ll go out on the limb and say that no topics are off limits.

GUY - you pick !!
Suggestion: what are killer bees and are they really "coming"?
Alternate suggestion - I love William Shatner and have his newest CD (okay it's a couple years old by now). Tell us your thoughts on his poetry and eccentricity or anything else.
Maybe you've already done this but how about "the art of blogging?" Is there a certain etiquette involved? Informal rules and regulations? No-nos? Negatives? (I'm still kind of new at this whole thing and you're pretty darn popular so I figure you're the "go to guy.")
If you "bump" me out of the first 7, that's okay. Sigh.
That picture has me squirming in my seat.
However... what to write about? I would have to go with Beth's suggestion. Why are blogs popular and even so much that they often get mentioned/cited in newspapers.
Your coming of age story.
What has been on my mind lately is that Humans Suck.
I mean, think about it - If there were creatures on this planet that did what we do. Do what we do to each other, to the environment and all the fucking noise we make. I am pretty sure those creatures would be eradicated. We Suck.
Thanks guy.
If a person is called a "douche-bag", what exactly is being said there?
What are the qualifications for being a "douche-bag".
Lord knows we know a few....
Here's a vote for gearhead's suggestion. Inquiring minds want to know. . . !
OK Auntie L, I'll do one and if I don't get seven submitted I'll do both.
Beth and Trish, no problem.
Lelo, I somehow feared that you would read today, but I will honor my word.
Portosan, you've got it.
Gearhead, no problem
K who spoke to me personally, I will do it.
Now if Mel, Moosehead or Syd chime in, and I do fear them, perhaps more than Lelo, we may have seven, if not I can use Auntie L's second pitch.
Just thinking about you Guy. I'm just on the dark side of the moon at the moment. Karma seems to be catching up to me as shortly after my last message re Zen, my wife told me that we should have a "talk". Well, the crux is that we are splitting up-I think the words irreconcilable differences pretty much sums it up. Good blog subject material there eh? - as I seem to recall you have made the same journey in the long ago past. I wonder where this crossroads will take me...Damn! I hate being blindsided! Time to reassess.Lots to be said for living in the present tense or perhaps for living in the pretense. Not looking for sympathy here so Boo, Beth et al - toughen up! What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger!
Moosehead, I'm sorry to hear that, my friend. Being your wound is fresh I don't feel it would be a good topic to blog about. Somethings I may say could turn you toward a criminal path either towards her or me.
I have only been totally heart broken a couple times in my life, and I've broken a couple of hearts myself.
You are facing some dark days even if you come to terms with it all. It will take a year to get over. My only advice is don't get angry and don't give up on your self. Don't start drinking and neglecting to bathe. That would be pathetic... Be cool and it will all be cool. Eventually some else will come around looking for a bilingual smart ass, and you'll be there ready to go.
I see you closed with a Nietzsche quote. Final advice, DON'T READ ANY MORE NIETZSCHE!!!
How about how Nietzsche can influence a relationship for a topic - or just relationships of the heart in general and the three things you've learned that you'd pass onto a Junior Guy Who Writes?
And, Moosehead...sorry, man. That bites. Lori http://www.hahnathome.com
How Nietzsche influence relationships. My you are mean spirited, asking me to write about that, Lori ; ) Actually he wasn't that bad if you can handle a little depression every now and then. Woody Allen said that he read Nietzsche to cheer himself up before bed. But hey, that's the 7th idea so I will write. I may start the Readers Revenge series on Monday. Stay tuned...
Wise words of wisdom Guy - worry not. I harbor no thoughts of criminal intent nor will I forego my daily shower. Never was much of a drinker either. Strange how pathos and the relative anonimity of blogs blend so well with the human condition and the relentless pursuit of happiness. Somewhat comforting for a smartass...
If Nietzsche is to be one of your topics, please (please!) avoid his anti-female rants. Boring and they piss me off.
(But I guess it's your call, right?)
You're a good writer, so I'd respect a column about what exactly good writing vs. bad writing is. Feel free to use blog snippets as examples, Lord knows I read some stuff that makes my head want to explode, then other stuff, like your Zen stories, that feel like a warm summer evening on the front porch.
What a great post and I love the responses!! Some great blog fodder here...I can hardly wait for future posts!!!
Moosehead...sorry about your news and turn of life events...ACK!! sucks doesn't it....am there myself so I will leave the advice giving up to others and read along as well!!
And Guy....loved your final advice for Moosehead....ditch the Nietzsche!!
OK Moosehead, just keeping my fingers on your pulse.
Beth, fear not. I wouldn't do that to the readers.
Mo3 I added your idea to Beth & Trish's and the article has been written.
Thanks Boo. Both of you heart broken Canadians...so sad.
