Look-alikes

I love it when people resemble someone famous. I had a friend that looked just like Siguorney Weaver. I dated someone who looked like Meryl Streep from time to time. Zoe, who checks in here from time to time looks like Jody Foster. My father was a dead ringer for Glen Ford. To make matters even stranger they were even born on the same day and the same year, and they died with in a year of one another.

Isn’t it interesting that more of us don’t look like one another? So many faces with so many differing features and there is rarely a likeness between them. But once in a while it is remarkable how similar two faces can be.

The Astoria Coast Guard Air Station had a commander named Jim Clune in the early 1970's whose resemblance to John Wayne was such that he frequently was asked for autographs in airports. Heck of a nice guy.

One of my friends in junior high school had a brother whose best friend resembled Peter Noone of "Herman's Hermits" so much he used to get mobbed by screaming girls. Not that he minded much, haha! And in my teens/early 20s there was a girl somewhere here in Portland who looked so much like me - so I was told all the time by people who knew me and thought they "saw" me in Portland on the weekends - I guess it was quite uncanny. Alas, I never got the chance to ever meet her and compare, haha! But one time while I was out having lunch with my little toddlers, a man approached me and said, "Cheryl?" and I told him, no, I wasn't Cheryl. He was almost insistent that I WAS, telling me I'd babysat for him when I was a teenager! Nope. Not me. I wonder if he mistook me for my "look-alike", too. Strange.

I've been told by a few of my co-workers that there's someone in the local area who looks like me. Or I look like him. I guess it depends on your point of view.

But they should know it isn't me ... unless he's wearing suspenders and "old fashioned" trousers. lol!

Anbon, I hope he didn't go around calling people Pilgrim.

Auntie, the point is they look the same, so no photo needed.

Kris, I had a friend that looked like Peter Tork from the Monkeys. He was often chased.

Anon, I like evil twins.

Walt, that's OK until some starts a fight with you over something your look alike did. It makes me wonder how many beating he's taken because of you ; )

Yes, when she removed her make-up. She was a nice site to wake up with.
During the day she was really into war paint, but she would soften her look in the evenings.

People are always telling me I look like their second cousin or a girl they new in school. In fact, I once met these two guys who were in the military and gay - they swore they new me - kept whispering to each other - seems they thought I used to hang out in one of the gay clubs in someplace like Heidelberg. Of course, this was news to my then husband. And me, unfortunately. Sounds like the other me was having way more fun.
