Eye, Eye, Eye

While driving to Portland on Friday, I realized that I was having trouble seeing with my left eye. The signs on the highway were blurry. When I blinked I could see a light circle on my eye lid. Later in the day my eye sight was no better, and maybe even worse. When looking at my computer keyboard I could only see the outer letters on the keyboard.

Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment with my opthamologist first thing on Monday being he had a lot of cancellations due to the weather. He has been aware and mindful of my eye problems and this turn has him concerned to the point of sending me to a retina specialist.

Not knowing the future, I plan to plod ahead and write whenever possible. I still have one good eye for now, but it does make me wonder just how much ones’ life can change and how quickly things can change. I’ll keep you all posted.

I am thinking about you today, honey. Take care and I will check in when I can. However, if it's something sorta bad, I hope it's something that will give you the ability to imbibe weed legally.

I hope it is something minor and temporary. Good luck!

That sucks. Totally. I am facing an issue with my one remaining good ear...the possibility of losing my hearing completely is pretty terrifying. Hope your issue is fixable.

Ye gads. I hate eye problems. It's my least favorite phobia. Even looking at that picture at the top of the post made my eyes water. I do hope it's nothing serious, Guy. I just found you and even tho you set me up with Auntie, I still like you as a friend. (grin)
The delegate from the state of Mizzery casts all of his hopeful wishes (and electoral votes, what the heck) for Guy!!!

The eye thing will be cool Guy...don't sweat it. Worry will not help.

Now about you setting Darev up with Auntie...what's up with that?? That really sucks...you didn't even consider me?

Anon- No, not set me up like hooked me up. Set me up and left me flappin' in the wind! Set me up like ninepins, he did. With Autie, ball in hand, stepping up to the line to throw a strike. Left me a mere shadow of me former self! And me just a poor slip of a lad, too....

you probably have i-rightus.

seriously, take care of it and don't resist going to the doctor. in many instances, time can be your enemy.

i have a bud (graduate of warnton) who is now an optometrist and he tells me about how many eyes could be saved if people would instantly see the doctor.

i hope the best for you guy!

Many many things could be saved by going to the doctor in time. Guys (not just Guy) tend to put those things off. Go get it checked out and quit worrying us, dammit! (grin)

Wow, thanks for your concerns, one and all. So as not to use an entire potential blog post in a reply, you'll get to hear the whole story soon, but what has happened is that fluid has leaked behind my retina. It is as though there are two blisters in the paper thin retina membrane, and it should resolve itself with time, but if it happens again I go under the laser.

Much more to come in a future post.
