Towers
I just don’t get it. The Real Estate industry in Massachusetts is doing all they can to kill any possibility of off shore wind farms that may be visible from view properties in beach towns. All over the country supply and demand is the excuse for building ugly cell phone towers, radio and TV transmission towers, nuclear cooling towers, water towers, yet wind mills can’t be built where the wind is because they are ugly.
Of all the towers mentioned above, the wind tower is the most aesthetically designed. This is because it has movement. Humans love movement. We can stare for hours at a fire, or at the waves in the ocean or at water falling through a stream. We will watch clouds cross the sky. We can only see wind when it affects something in its path.
To me, wind towers are win-win. As spectators we get to watch their movement which helps us contemplate the vastness of the sky and the movement of pressure systems contained with in. Next we also get clean renewable electricity.
I guess the Massachusetts Real Estate industry prefers the smog and acid rains that coal burning electricity generation creates. I hope that’s working out for you…assholes!

Fuckers! All of them. (guess who needs sensitivity training?)
I love the sound of the wind towers too. They "whooosh".
Well, pretty much everyone wants electrical power to their house, but few want power lines and poles. People want their cell phones but I doubt they want cell towers in their backyards. They buy products packaged in crap but don't want to think of the landfills where the shit ends up. They take a dump every day but don't want to live near a wastewater treatment plant. Wind power generators are just trading one type of pollution for another.
I don't know if there's an answer to all these things except making extreme lifestyle changes, and I don't see that happening. It brings out my pessimism of the human race.
Some of the major opposition happens to come from the Kennedys. I guess environmental solutions are okay just not in the Kennedy's Backyard. In VT their is major opposition for wind because people don't want to destroy the view of the "ridgelines." Maybe we are doomed because people just think disposable crap and more stuff is the purpose for their meaningless life...
Unfortunately stupidity will claim an equal amount of offenders and innocents.
The rich are so clueless.
We used to drive by fields of them on the way to Palm Springs and they looked cool, I thought.
Now, if we can discuss those three trees across the street that are blocking MY view of the River...
