Whole Frauds

As many of you long time readers here know I am very suspicious of the entire organic industry and the agriculturalist that bend the rules so their products can be labeled “Organic.” The largest organic milk producer in the United States makes the organic claim because they feed their cows organically produced food and grain, however these cows never see a pasture. They are locked up like veal and fed.

I’ve had my bouts with the Oregon certifying agency, Oregon Tilth, causing them to change many of their regulations. However their underling silliness is still deeply rooted the fantasy world of KumBiaYa singing tea drinkers.

I was delighted to come upon this video that was presented on Tango’s Facebook page. Tango has been on a rant lately which reminds me of my own rages against factory farms and Monsanto a couple of years ago here on this blog.

Please watch this video on Whole Foods, or as some people call it, “Whole Paycheck” and what they are selling as “Organic.”

Whole Foods Organic

Not only Whole Foods, but I've wondered about the big chain grocery's "organic" labels. Guess reading the fine print more carefully is the place to start.

I don't buy anything based on labeling alone. If I really wanted organic food I would grow it myself. Does the US actually produce anything besides marijuana anymore? I'm beginning to doubt it.

Ranting is an understatement.

I'm really pissed of at myself for not being aware of any of this years ago, but then the news didn't involve the evil giant Toyota nor Tiger Woods.

It makes me wonder if not many or all of the health issues in my family is due to food contamination of one kind or another.

I'm bound and determined to do something about it in my and my family's life. Maybe it's too late

I've never gone out of my way to buy "organic" because I don't trust that it necessarily is, plus, it really doesn't matter one way or another to me. I will, however, try to buy "locally-grown" whenever I can, which I think is more important.

Thanks to you and Tango for keeping it real. I don't shop organic because I don't believe in it that much; but by george, I hate lying and deception. Besides, Cliff's youngest sister shops at Whole Foods, so maybe I can educate her.
Oh, and my "word verification" word?
Nosir.

It's funny when you know something innately but you just can't put a finger on it. I'd like to add other things to the "Don't Shop Whole Foods" list.
Don't become a Republican or a Democrat. Don't shop at Walmart. Don't eat at Red Robbin, Chili's, Applebees or Olive Garden. Don't buy stuff from Burt's Bees.

I thought you had changed your mind on Burt's Bees?

I changed it back.

That didn't last long. What happened?

I question the quality of bees wax they are getting from another continent and my balm is better with fewer ingredients.

I agree that the organic label has been absconded with by big corporate. Whatever is popular is purchased and obliterated. Boo! The only guarantee is local!
